Birthday: 6/5/1985

Interests: Learning more about my Savior and how to glorify Him! :-D That is the most important thing to me, and the only goal in my life that really matters. I also love kids (I'm a nanny so that's a good thing), reading, music, traveling, thunderstorms, watching 80s movies, and getting caught in the rain. Really. Hate the song though.
Expertise: I can get almost any stain out of almost anything. I can carry on up to four conversations at once. I can carry twins and a two-year-old and a random assortment of airplane toys up the stairs all at once. I think nanny is definitely my calling. Oh yeah, and I can hook up even the most stubborn home theater system. (I used to work at RadioShack.)

     It was brought to my attention on Sunday that I haven't updated in a long while. This is true. I am pretty much not even qualified to be a xangaer any more based on how often I actually post or read. I'm pretty much done with it indefinitely. Upon mulling this over, it occurred to me: that last post could not exactly be considered going out in a blaze of glory. So: here's my current state of affairs, which will also be functioning as what is essentially farewell. For a while at least.

Juli's State of Being at the Moment:

I am EXITED about:

My New Maryland family, encompassing

two wise, loving, and funny parents;

my twin, who brightens every one of my days and talks to me about random things at random times and can always be counted upon to respond correctly to a leering cricket signal flashed covertly across a room;

a fantastic brother who has wisdom and wit in spades and who is even willing, occasionally, to take a brief break from talking about his lovely fiancee, for just a moment, so as to sing Newsies songs with us in three-part harmony;

a big sister who is good with words and decorating schemes, and whom I am really enjoying getting to know better;

and a little sister who adds incredible insight and joy to my life despite her youthfulness (making two out of my three best friends sixteen. Hmmm -- 1 Timothy 4:12, anyone?).

Also part of the package, but sold separately, are

a big brother and sister-in-law who are fantastic caregroup leaders,

a fuzzy big brother who makes me laugh a lot and whom I think is pretty darn keen, despite the fact that thus far the most he's willing to claim me as is first cousin twice removed (but we're working on that... soon I think I may work my way up to merely once removed),

and the best cousin ever, who will join me in exploring the woods, having great conversations, and watching funny movies, and whom I love very much, even if he did roll a largish log onto my ankle on Sunday.

There are almost no drawbacks in this deal, the snoring threat having turned out to be unfounded (she only does it while camping, for some unfathomable reason), and the propensity for puns becoming unbearable only when the middle sister and the middle brother are together and sort of gang-pun you.

All in all, it's a pretty amazing situation, and I can't get over how good God is to me.

My New Job. As new Customer Service Manager for Lampstand Press, not only do I get to work with some of my favorite people, but I get to go to the doctor's again! Hooray! An interesting cause for cheering perhaps, but as I've been sans health insurance for nearly three years, it's a huge blessing.

My New Devotions Plan, which has been yielding good fruit and really helping me improve my dismal discipline skills.

My Plans for the Spring and Summer: on the table coming up is a trip to Florida to visit two old friends, a roadtrip to South Carolina to see the Sherers and pick up Abbi for New Attitude,  a chance to show off some cool spots in my home city and ride some awesome coasters and such with a roadtrip to Pittsburgh and Kennywood with some friends, ten days in Mexico with my very best friends in the world, and Fourth of July in Rhode Island with the aforementioned best family in Maryland.

So there you have it. A superlative-intensive post, I know, but I am so blessed that I can't help it. God works all things well. Life is good! (Eternal life is better.)

4:45 PM on Sunday: Ned, Stephen, John and me randomly off-roading with Clifford (my jeep) at Farm Park, on top of the hill, trying to run and spin at the same time, and watching the sunset from upside down, and just generally being nuts.

8:50 PM on Sunday: Ned, Stephen, John and me on top of the Farm Park hill again, after a few hours at the Somervilles', swinging a lantern and attempting to find my phone in a huge field in the pitch dark.

Somewhere in between: me discovering that one should never store one's phone in one's hoodie pocket while one is attempting to make oneself dizzy in the middle of stubble field.

So the other day I took a lovely stroll in the beautiful autumn woods hand-in-hand with a really cute boy.... we talked and laughed and had a really good time, just the two of us....

Hello everyone! Well, I am temporarily returning, primarily (actually exclusively) because I have pictures to post. My xangaing has needed to take a backseat to the rest of my insane life lately, but all my fun pictures were piling up and people keep asking to see them. So here are the highlights of my last few weeks, in photo form (my favorite form, in case no one has picked up on that yet.)

I took a trip home to see my wonderful family.

My baby brother who is six inches taller than I am.

How adorable are my parents?

My Pa-pa and Mum-mum. (He smiles a lot more in person than he is (not) in this picture.) If you two see this from Aunt Minnie's, hi and I love you!

During an impromptu game night at the Somervilles', we ended up handcuffing people. Don't ask me why.

Charity calls me her Italian duplicate. So true. We just belong together, somehow. So long as we use our collective spastic power for good, not evil. Buahahaha.

Tarrah gettin' jiggy wit it.

Now Marjie, why would we want to hide such a pretty face?

John was my partner for Settlers of Cataan because he was a good player and I had never played before. It didn't take me long to decide I hadn't missed much. Marj and I finally "accidentally" wrecked the board and we moved on to Pit, a game slightly more in keeping with our personalities. (Loud, chaotic, and prone to dissolve into fits of uncontrollable laughter.)

My twinnies turn one! Elias and John, the twins I took care of and lived with for seven months, eat their first birthday cake. They appear to approve.

Me and my Annie-Banannie. I miss her.

I took my Lovely Lydia to the Pumpkin Festival for her birthday and we had a grand ol' time.

Don't we look....

... like such little kids?

And in a much more mature photo (chortle) here we are with our faces painted. An owl...

... and a gecko. What do they have to do with fall, you may ask? Just the fact that you would ask shows you don't know Lydia and me very well.

I love pumpkins. They make me happy.

How amazing is our Creator, huh?

On Saturday a bunch of pretty much my favorite people went caving up at Laurel Caverns in Pennsylvania. It was basically really really fun.

You'll note what a good time Chad was having.

This is the very end of the cave. They sort of stuffed themselves into the rock.

Spelunker Girls would be a great name for a rock band.

My daddy and brother Steve came too.

It was snowing when we came up out of the cave... that was pretty cool.

John was a huge help with the planning of the whole expedition. Putting it together without him would have been a whole lot harder and a lot less fun. John, you're one of my very favorite brothers and I'm so thankful for you. Thanks again for tag-teaming the leadership of this with me!

So yeah, life has been interesting and fun and busy and adventurous. I have a wonderful family, awesome friends, and an incredible Creator/Savior/Father. I'm so thankful for them all!
